antique-erotic: A truly fascinating photograph sent in by a reader who would prefer to remain anonymous - thankyou, kind sir! With a little research I’ve been able to discover what occupation required such an outlandish collection of equipment - they are early telephone linemen, wires seen looped round the left-hand chap’s shoulder, while the sturdy leather safety straps hung from their belts are to prevent falls from the dangerous heights they scaled. I love the charming confident pose of the man on the right, and how proud of their job they must have been to record it in a photographer’s studio.
